Its amazing how far direct selling has come over the last few years, a recession proof industry that in actual fact booms during these hard times! This made it an opportune time for the Annual Dubai Direct Selling Festival.

I think the need for something like this was quite evident in Dubai, a city that was built on tourism and that has suffered huge losses over the last few months. After all, 80 to 90% of all people in Dubai were foreigners, so what happens when foreigners lose their jobs, they leave the country.

What happens when people leave the country, well companies lose business, and have to downsize, which means that more people leave the country! A little bit of a viscous circle. This makes it an opportune time for people to seek other methods of recession proofing their income.

It also made a great time for the government to provide endorsed opportunities to the public in order to help the longevity of their economy!

This gave rise to the 2nd Annual Direct Selling Festival in Dubai, a collection of business opportunities for people wishing to replace their income. I was there with Kalpesh Patel, a very successful motivational speaker and trainer and together we helped launch Success University in Dubai.

The response was huge!

Unless you have been living under a rock these last few months, you will have heard (and most possibly felt) the effects of this so called Credit Crisis or global recession.
And i pray that you have not fallen victim to it, however, while most people have somewhat of an idea of what it is, not everyone understands it fully.
In fact, i think the majority of people have not gotten their heads around the complexities of it and are too shy to ask or can’t find a simple enough explanation to tell us what is going on!
What has kicked of this global recession? Well the sub prime mortgage crisis in america ….but what does all that mean!!!
I found this great video by a media student named Jonathan Jarvis, and hats of to the guy, he really did a hell of a job! Am extremely impressed and kind of understand what has been going on that little much better!
