1. Leaders who develop leaders:
Want to be succeeded
Want to be replaced
Focus on people’s strengths
Devote their attributes to the top 20% of their group.
Will give away their power
Grow up their group
Will invest time in their leaders
Develop their organization by training their leaders
Lead people differently
Expect much commitment
Have a high expectation of themselves and high expectations of others
Will impact people beyond their touch
2. Leaders who develop followers:
Want to be needed
Want to be recognized
Focus on people’s weaknesses
Devote their attributes to the bottom 20% of their group.
Will hold on to their power
Do not show up your group
Will spend time with their followers
Grow the organization by attracting more followers
Lead people the same way
Expect little commitment
Have a high expectation of themselves and low expectations of others (this is how you are showing them up
Will only impact the people that they touch
Followers will become the load.
Ultimately you need to lead people stylishly, your goal is not to be fair- you may not always be liked as a leader but you will always be respected if you get the results.
