Squidoo, what is it, how can it help, our page on it!
Squidoo is a website that is a shining example of what we call web 2.0.
What is web 2.0?
well the term refers more refers to a perceived second generation of web-based communities and hosted services —
basically like many social-networking sites, Squidoo, Facebook, wikis etc — These are websites which aim to facilitate collaboration and sharing between users.
Despite the name suggesting a newer version of the internet, there is or was no update with any technical specifications, just the ways in which the developers and the public users actually utilize the internet as a platform.
So What is Squidoo? Well basically it is a website that offers free space on the internet to use as you wish. They provide you with a page on Squidoo(what they call a lens) and through that you have exposure on the internet. The best thing is anyone can do it and for nothing!
So why do people have a “lens” there? Are there any benefits?
1. Squidoo pages are quickly indexed.Sometimes as short as 48 hours to return a Google search. New websites have been known to wait MONTHS to feel some Google love!
2. There is a strong connection between Google & Squidoo. Google places a lot of value in the pages here on Squidoo. Most lenses will climb to the top of the results for their keywords (given that the lens is made properly).
3. You can earn money from Squidoo as they share revenue from advertisements with it’s lensmasters.
4. Well quite simply Its FREE
